dc.description.abstract This article provides an overview of honey, a sweet and viscous substance produced primarily by honey bees from floral nectar and honeydew. It explains the importance of honey as a long-term food source for bees and describes how humans collect it through beekeeping or apiculture. The article further examines the structure of bee colonies, including the roles of the queen, drones, and worker bees. It also describes the process of honey production, from the collection of nectar by foraging bees to its transfer, digestion, enzymatic breakdown, and evaporation within the hive. These processes reduce the water content of nectar and transform its sugars into glucose and fructose, resulting in the production and storage of honey in honeycombs. en_US
