Title: The systematic literature review of digital health interventions in South Africa
Author: Masipa, Andrew
Abstract: This systematic literature review explores digital health interventions in South Africa. It defines digital health as a discipline that uses information and communication technologies to enhance healthcare delivery, making it more personalized and precise. The review focuses on popular domains such as telemedicine (encompassing remote care, digitized medical records, and online consultations), wearable technologies for personalized data tracking, and augmented/virtual reality for digitized treatment regimens. The paper examines how these technologies address health challenges and improve treatment efficiency, a relevance heightened by the COVID-19 pandemic's shift toward remote care.
