Abstract:
|
Digital health uses information and communication technologies to enhance the efficiency of healthcare delivery and to make medicine more personalised and precise. This paper reviews the field's main technology domains — telemedicine, wearable technologies, and augmented and virtual reality — with particular focus on telemedicine, which encompasses digitised medical records, remote consultations, appointment booking, and online health records. It considers how the COVID-19 pandemic accelerated adoption of remote care, and how the resulting availability of patient data supports more personalised, data-driven treatment planning. |
